Wireless Networks

September 1, 2008

I have always been a fan of wireless networks, and have never used a wired network. I know they are much more secure and somewhat faster, I like the “wireless” part of the wireless network. Wireless is so much easier to connect to and it just works for me. I am always getting a new computer or removing or changing them from the network at my home and it can be difficult if I need to enter a WEP\WPA key. I just dont have time for it. I understand that plugging in a wire isn’t that hard, but I like the ability to roam. For example, my sister loves to use her laptop in the kitchen, or on the sofa. We can’t just plug an ethernet cord into an ethernet jack in the wall then in her computer, then the fmaily room would be an entire mess and so would the kitchen. But, while I was on my train to New York city, I was trying to find wireless hotspots (while my dad was using the sprint card), I noticed that some people had locked their networks. I say, go with the flow! They aren’t taking that much bandwidth, let them use it! Anyway, here is the photo I took:

ughhhh everyone locked the networks

ughhhh everyone locked the networks

Anyway, that is my little rant for today.
